Your Oven: Repair Or Replace?

If you have ever been without an oven, you will know how difficult it is to live off microwave meals and cold food.

So if your oven is on the blink, it is time to be asking if you should just repair it or you should replace it. Our blog looks at the benefits of both, including the cost and the convenience.

How Much To Repair?

If you want to repair your oven, you would need to source the correct replacement parts. These would need to be compatible and of high quality. Some suppliers offer a wide range of replacement or like-for-like parts at a reasonable price, so be sure to do some research.

Identify the fault and source the new part before committing to a purchase! Check that you will be able to install it yourself, or if you will need a handyman’s help.

How Much To Replace The Oven?

Replacing an oven will be much more costly, so you may wish to avoid this option if you are working to a budget. However, a replacement will be more beneficial if your current oven has a few problems and will need some work over the next few months. A newer oven may also last you longer.

How Convenient Is Repairing?

If you work full-time or have a busy schedule, repairing your oven might be easier said than done. It will probably take you 10 minutes to work out if the oven is broken in the first place. You might then need to figure out the make and model, which will take an extra 5 minutes. Researching and finding prices might take you a number of hours, and then a few days for delivery. Fitting it may not be as easy as it seems, so this might take you up to an hour to figure out too.

How Convenient Is Replacing The Oven?

When you figure out your oven is broken and you need a replacement, you then need to dispose of your current appliance. This could take days to achieve if you are taking it to the recycling centre or waiting on a scrap man. Then you will need to go shopping for a new one. Again, you might take a while to decide on which style or model so this might not be as quick as you expected. Then you need to arrange delivery too!

Whether you order a replacement part or choose a brand-new oven, be sure to do your research and make a decision that will benefit you in the long run.
