Summer nights are around the corner, with lighter evenings and warmer weather getting ready to descend.
Many people consider summer to be their favourite season, and it’s obvious why. During the summer, people tend to spend more time in their gardens – enjoying the sun, barbecuing and entertaining friends and family, as well as adding to their greenery. It’s time to get summer ready.
You might be thinking ‘summer is months away’. Yes, you’re right. But remember a few months ago when we were saying the same about Christmas…? So, in this article, we have suggestions to get your garden summer ready.
Plan Your Summer Ready Garden
Before getting started on pulling up your lawn and plants, binning your old garden furniture and starting from scratch, create a plan.
Draw out where you want your grass to start and end, whether you want a border of shrubbery or potted plants. Are you wanting decking? A patio? Garden furniture? A barbeque space?
Creating a plan means you will be able to visualise what the end product will look like. Hence, it will also ensure you stick to your budget as well as being summer ready. You won’t end up buying unnecessary items either! Consider how much it will be to do it yourself or to hire a professional.

Choose Some Plants
If you are a keen gardener, you will know all about plants. If you are a novice, you may wish to do some research. The pretty and colourful flowers might look better but they may also require more care. Be sure to check how to care for your plants before purchasing!
Some plants need a lot of water while others need shade. Some plants may need planting in certain seasons so be sure to double-check.
You may wish to build a greenhouse or start a vegetable patch in the garden. This could be a great idea if you have kids, or if you are wanting to save money in the long run. If you have an orangery, why not add some indoor plants too? Check out our website for ideas for orangeries.
Build A Summer House
That old battered shed at the very end of the garden has to go. Treat yourself to a new Wendy House or summer house. Not only do they look great, but they provide ample storage space too. We can provide replacement wood windows, or replace sealed units with double glazed window styles. Moreover, we fit draught proof doors too!
Within the house, why not add a seating area or convert it to a mini bar?
There are tonnes of ways you can get your garden summer ready. It’s never too soon to start!
