Reclaimed Doors

Reclaimed doors are ideal if you are looking for a cost-effective option when upgrading your home. Moreover, they are available internally or externally so may be the best choice for you. As these doors have been previously used, they can feel more rustic and cosy than a new door. Furthermore, reclaimed doors are much more environmentally friendly.

However, second-hand doors may need some refurbishment. If they are wooden, they may need sanding down to ensure they fit securely. Doors like these can be difficult to hang in an existing frame too and may warp over time.

New Doors

Brand new doors are often much more modern and contemporary than second-hand or pre-loved doors. Moreover, they are often ready-made from DIY retailers or can be made to measure by door manufacturing or home improvement companies. However, as they are custom-made, they may be more expensive.

Buying new means your door won’t have the same history as a reclaimed door. But, there are various designs to choose from so if you are looking to add some vintage to your home, a new door can achieve just that too. Furthermore, new doors hang easily as they are designed to fit the existing frame or the new frame that comes with the door. Hence, there may be less maintenance required and more longevity.
